The word Autumn has evolved from more modern times. Before the 16th century, this season was referred to as Harvest. As more people moved into towns than working the land the word Harvest lost its reference to this time of year. Now it is generally only used to refer to the activity of reaping itself.
This is so beautiful - the colours are so amazing and that feather really rounds it off nicely!
